Grand Strand Medical and Dr. Donald Eagerton recently welcomed Dr. Sam Joseph as the latest Endocrinology Fellow. Dr. Joseph is part Grand Strand Medical Center’s newest class of 56 residents and 3 fellows to our graduate medical education program! Depending on their specialty training program, these physicians will spend between 1-5 years with our teams.
Medical residents are doctors who are furthering their training, after completing medical school, in a graduate medical education program. These physicians are exposed to in-depth medical practices to expand their knowledge in a specialized field during their residency. A fellowship is a program for those who have completed their residency and want to pursue further training to become a specialist in their chosen field.
